The Moving Process
Planning is the cornerstone of a smooth relocation, because good planning insures good execution. Successful projects are a result of meticulous planning and attention to detail. It is important that your and your staff are comfortable with each step of the move, so we make time to answer all your questions and concerns. We'll work with you to develop a moving plan that meets your needs.
Tagging & Placarding
Before an item is moved, it is tagged with a color-coded label to ensure it arrives at the correct room. We give detailed instructions on how each piece of furniture should be tagged. At destination, each work area is placarded to quickly and clearly identify office locations. Placement charts are utilized in each office so we arrange the furniture just the way you want it. This allows your employees to get back to work with a minimum of downtime after the move.
Making The Move
Each move is carefully supervised in a manner that achieves maximum efficiency. Our supervisors are chosen for their ability to troubleshoot problems and decipher solutions on the fly, are experienced in commercial office moving and have demonstrated an ability to direct, control and motivate. You can easily identify supervisors by their white United Van Lines supervisors' shirts. Walkie-talkies enable them to communicate with other supervisors and foremen on the move to eliminate potential bottlenecks or other slowdowns.
Protecting Your Property
Protecting your walls and hallways is just as important to us as protecting your furniture and equipment. Before the move starts, we place masonite on the floors, put corner protectors on the doorways, pad the elevators and provide other protection for the building.
If necessary, we will issue a Certificate of Insurance for the move in accordance with building requirements.
